Great Idea Grants! Making a difference in the learning experience of children.

In its 19-year history, the Education Enrichment Foundation has given over $330,000 to public schools in Greenwood County for Great Idea Grants. These small grants enable teachers to try new teaching strategies, enrich their students' school experiences and provide learning opportunities that would not be possible through limited tax-supported budgets of school districts.

The Great Idea Grant Program has been established by the Education Enrichment Foundation to encourage teachers to explore innovative approaches to learning in their classrooms. The Foundation seeks quality ideas that link to State standards and build higher-order cognitive skills. Applications are reviewed on a competitive basis, and a limited number of grants are funded. A teacher may apply for Classroom Grants for any amount up to $400.00 to serve a single classroom. Multi-Class Grants are offered for a proposal that involves more than one classroom. Multi-Class Grants may be written for any amount up to $800.00 and may be designed for several classes in one grade or across grade levels. Grant applications that are school-wide in nature can be submitted for amounts up to $1,200.00. All grants are awarded for one year; recipients will be notified of their award by mid October.
